Okay then

This is entirely unrelated to books, but I just had to share.

I was calling a car service about possibly scheduling a ride to the airport sometime in the future. I knew it was a one-person business, or close to it. The conversation was pretty normal, right up until the end. I was asking if there were particular days the service wasn't available when the guy said, "I'm not sure how to put this delicately. How do you feel about the end times?"

Me: "...I'm not sure what you mean."

The guy: [Launches into a several minute-long list of reasons why the end times will occur in either November or December.] "So, do you get what I'm saying?"

Me: "Yes."

The guy: "Okay, great! So you understand that we can't schedule anything this early. Also, if I were you, I'd think long and hard about your trip."

Me: "Oh yes, I am."

I wish I didn't have travel anxiety, but I'd rather battle it than call him back.
