Carpet Diem: Or...How to Save the World by Accident - Justin Lee Anderson

This is not what my copy looks like, but I'm too lazy to add the audiobook edition.

This was an impulse Overdrive checkout. I was kind of hoping it'd be a little Pratchett-ish. Instead, it seems to be goofy for the sake of being goofy. All but three members of the main character's entire extended family were killed in a "pudding-related" accident. There was flambe with way too much cheap alcohol, and somehow all of this resulted in an explosion. Now Simon is a filthy rich recluse, and he's currently speculating that his great aunt might be responsible for local incidents of elderly people being knocked unconscious and waking up to find their noses stuffed with cheese.
