Vacation images

Since my vacations don't generally involve me doing much beyond reading and hanging out at my parents' house, I don't have lots of great pics to share. But I do have a few, as well as some great out-of-context panels from a few of the volumes I read.

Here's a picture that made me laugh. I went to go make breakfast one morning and realized I was being harshly judged, or maybe just suspiciously watched. It took me a second to figure out whether this was the neighbor's cat or dog. BIG kitty.

Here are my parents' handsome boys. The first one is a Dachshund and the absolute best napping buddy, and the second one is...who knows what (probably some terrier in there?), but definitely a sweetie pie jock. One of my jobs was to brush that big doofus, and I could probably have built a third dog out of all the fur I got off him.

Now for the out-of-context panels. The first is from Natsume's Book of Friends, which is a lovely and gentle series but, as this demonstrates, occasionally really creepy (panels go from right to left):

Next, from Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Kashima after a girls' night out. (Text: "We rolled all over the futons, played fifteen-and-up video games, and ranked men's underwear until we fell asleep!"). Romance-wise, I think I'm a bigger fan of Kashima/Hori than Chiyo/Nozaki.

And last, an image from The Tea Dragon Society. This panel screams Chobits to me. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Katie O'Neill was influenced by CLAMP's artwork.
