Good news today

This is a non-book-related post, so feel free to ignore. I'm just filled with happiness and felt like sharing.

About a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C. The best guess was that I got it from a blood transfusion when I was a baby. Anyway, I went through the treatment (12 weeks of bad + 12 weeks of less bad), and I just got my 1-year follow-up blood test back. I am officially cured! The only thing I have to do from here on out is not be hard on my liver.

This is the second time I've written about this in a non-vague way. It still feels a little like inviting doom upon my head in the form of bad blood test results, but I imagine eventually that feeling will go away.
