I'm a librarian who loves anime, manga, and reading a wide variety of genres.
What I went to my local new bookstore to buy yesterday:
Despite it being a Hugo Award winner, there were no copies available. I didn't want to leave empty-handed, so I bought some guilty pleasure manga instead:
It seems like every time I go to that store, I'm reminded why I rarely shop there. They hardly ever have the books I'm actually looking for, and whatever I do find that looks good can usually be found more cheaply online. Books I have failed to find in the past include: Jeannie Lin's latest releases, Meljean Brook's steampunk books, the next volume of almost any manga series I wanted to continue (finding volume 2 of Inu x Boku SS was a surprise), and the Guardians of the Galaxy novel.
