Dune - Frank Herbert, Simon Vance

Paul is proposing ecologically horrifying things.

If the spice is addictive and the Fremen have spent their whole lives consuming large quantities of it, wouldn't a lack of spice kill all the Fremen? Sure, Paul could "win" this, but it sounds like it would be a Pyrrhic victory at best.

(show spoiler)

Also, I'm a little tired of Paul being able to do everything, even things only women are supposed to be able to do. About the only thing he hasn't managed to do is become pregnant.

Although I know I sound grumpy, I've generally enjoyed this. It's just very long, and the messiah stuff gets old after a while. ::sigh::
