I just browsed through this really quick, but I'd like to read more of it later. My favorites of the ones that have pictures are:
- Tsuruhime Ohori (her short bio makes her sound a bit like a Tamora Pierce heroine)
- Ching Shih, a prostitute turned pirate
- Mariya Oktyabrskaya - "when husband was killed by Nazis, sold belongings, bought a tank, named tank Fighting Girlfriend, started killing Nazis"
