Pretty illustrated covers are my weakness

Air Awakens (Air Awakens Series Book 1) - Elise Kova Fire Falling (Air Awakens Series Book 2) (Volume 2) - Elise Kova

The first one's a little odd, I think because of the sleeve, but the second one inspires "ooh, gimme!" feelings in me. Considering the size of my TBR, I suppose it's a good thing the publisher (small press? self-publishing imprint? I'm not sure) appears to have DRM'ed e-books and therefore doesn't fit my e-book buying requirements.

Is anyone familiar with this author? I'm debating whether this would be worth adding to a future paper book order, or if I'm just having foolish cover lust again (oh, and the main character is also a book lover and "library apprentice"). Sadly, interlibrary loan doesn't appear to be an option.
