January 2016 reviews

I reviewed two novels, three volumes of manga, one movie, and one subscription box.

Although I didn't review much, it still felt like a good month - I enjoyed almost everything. I wasn't intentionally going for a theme, but I ended up with one anyway: nostalgia. Fuyumi Ono's Sea of Wind (not pictured here, because I opted not to review it again) and Mercedes Lackey's Arrows of the Queen were both comfort reads, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers reminded me of my love of old adventure games, and the Star Wars movie was basically made of nostalgia (although not so much mine, which is maybe part of the reason why I didn't adore it as much as some people).

My favorite cover this month:

Horimiya, Vol. 1 - Hero,Daisuke Hagiwara,Taylor Engel

The cover for Horimiya, Vol. 1 kind of makes me wish the whole manga were in color.
