I'm a librarian who loves anime, manga, and reading a wide variety of genres.
I'm going to try playing that game I made up. If it doesn't end up working well for me, I can always quit. In the end, the goal is to read and review more of my paper books, and then hopefully get rid of some of them. Since sheer number of books sometimes makes it hard to choose which one to start next, this game might help.
Okay, my starting book is Nora Roberts' From the Heart. Here are my options:
Heart
Meljean Brook - Heart of Steel
Robin D. Owens - Heart Quest (reread)
Heart Dance
Heart Change
Heart Journey
Nora Roberts - Heart of the Sea (reread)
Seanan McGuire - Every Heart a Doorway
Dianne Drake - The Baby Who Stole the Doctor's Heart
I could look at "from" too, but "heart" gives me plenty of options, so I'll stick with that. At the moment, I'm leaning towards rereading Heart Quest because I'm in a reread kind of mood. I don't know that "quest" would be a good word for the book after that, but going back to "heart" would let me read more of Owens' Celta series or move on to Every Heart a Doorway.
I have some time to think, though, because I need to work on my reviews and library books.
