I'm a librarian who loves anime, manga, and reading a wide variety of genres.
Hopefully I'll write a full review soon (although I still haven't written one for Illuminae...).
The first and last stories were the best.
During the fourth story, I realized that White has a tendency to present problems with a psychological basis as something patients can get over just by really wanting to do so, or by having the proper motivation to do so. In fact, Conway absolutely relied on this in the fourth story - it was his justification for doing something incredibly cruel to a visitor. This bugged me.
The editing was terrible. There was Dr. Mannon and his symbolic relationship and symbiotic reassuringly, at one point Conway talkeed (134), and later he thought "And their speaks a true friend" (180). Plus a few more typos I haven't listed.
