No Longer Human - Osamu Dazai, Donald Keene

The main character's childhood years have so far been my favorite part of this book - not in the sense that they were enjoyable, but because I could understand a little of what he was going through and feel some sympathy for him, even though I'm still not entirely sure what prompted him to become convinced that he did not qualify as human. Now I'm to the part covering his college years, however, and if I roll my eyes any harder they will come out of their sockets. I wish I could enter the book and tell the three women currently interested in him that they'd be better off gravitating towards someone else.
