I'm a librarian who loves anime, manga, and reading a wide variety of genres.
Librarians at my institution aren't faculty, but we're still required to go to at least one graduation a year. I started reading this while waiting for our cue to walk out and take our seats. If I hadn't somehow ended up in the front row, I might have continued to read during graduation.
Murderbot's bare minimum interest in and curiosity about work means that the story suffers a bit, but I'm in this more for Murderbot than anything, and I'm enjoying the humor. An example:
"At least Mensah and Arada had overruled the ones who wanted to talk to me about it. Yes, talk to Murderbot about its feelings. The idea was so painful I dropped to 97 percent efficiency. I’d rather climb back into Hostile One’s mouth."
