It's not working, so of course it's all I can think about

I was impatient and tried downloading another Freading book - a short sci-fi story about a mythical laundress with amazing clothes whitening abilities ("The Laundress of Silver Lake" by Julie Jansen). I had the same issue with it that I did with The Paratwa, so either it's a "me" problem or a sitewide issue. Blah.

 

I guess I have to force myself to read my other books instead. I'm thinking of abandoning Putting Makeup on Dead People, at least for a while, because the heroine kind of annoys me. I'm almost done with Snakecharm, which is looking like a 2 or 1.5 star read. And A Lot Like a Lady has its own issues. I've been terrible at picking books for myself lately.
