Reading progress update: I've listened to 1 out of 10 discs.

Cleopatra's Moon - Vicky Alvear Shecter, Kirsten Potter

I'm 5 tracks in. If this doesn't pick up soon, I don't know how I'm going to make it through 10 discs. I may have to abandon the book.

I was confused about some of the earlier parts. Somehow I missed that the heroine was really young, 9 years old or so instead of 15+, so her focus on people's clothing, her pleasure over the gifts she and her siblings were receiving (whole kingdoms!), and her acceptance of people's cheers as being 100% honest seemed especially naive. This book uses first person POV, so a younger sounding narrator might have helped.
