The Samhain debacle continues.

Samhain Publishing

Reblogged from TezMillerOz:
In February this year (see Publishers Weekly link), Samhain Publishing announced a "wind-down", but that they wouldn't shut down "immediately": http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/digital/content-and-e-books/article/69517-samhain-publishing-to-shut-down-operations.html

In the past 24 hours, authors have reported receiving an email from the boss at Samhain...saying there must have been a "misunderstanding" because Samhain didn't plan to shut down at all. Start at this Absolute Write link, and read on through the thread: http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?26307-Samhain-Publishing&p=9880866&viewfull=1#post9880866

An open letter from an author to Samhain Publishing emphasises the key quote in the original email from Samhain: http://gallagherwitt.blogspot.com/2016/07/an-open-letter-to-samhain-publishing.html

So now the Samhain boss claims that "begin the wind-down to close" didn't actually mean the publisher would close at any stage. WTF?!

This is a PUBLISHER, let's remember. They publish words for a living. You'd think they'd know what words mean, and which words to use to get their message across effectively. So when there's a "misunderstanding"...to me this says that the Samhain boss DID NOT COMMUNICATE THEIR INTENTIONS EFFECTIVELY.

They deal with words for a living, yet don't communicate as well as they should, and they blame everyone else for "misunderstanding" their words.

Yeah, no one's buying that gaslighting bollocks.
