Non-book post: Turning the work difficulty level up

It's harder to get all the staff hours in my department covered during the summer, so I'm usually down by about 25% on my total number of staff hours compared to Fall and Spring. I just found out that, beginning next month, I'm going to be down by 75% for who knows how long (the "bad for me, good for my staff member" news I was worried about a while back).

Meanwhile, we're still opening a new library location, complete with a new collection that my department is supposed to have ready by the beginning of July. I'm simultaneously getting "don't overwork yourself" and "this needs to be done" talks, sometimes from the same people. ::siiigh:: It definitely doesn't help that we've been having technical problems during the past week. This morning I checked the staff side of the catalog only to get nothing but message-less error messages. Fun. At least that problem was resolved in only a few hours.

I really do appreciate Booklikesopoly. It's something nice to look forward to, and it's okay if all I manage to do is plod along.
